heartattack

a couple of weeks ago, ben walked in to joel and kadin's room to do the nightly check before going to bed and found...

an empty bed.

he said his heart skipped a beat. was joel kidnapped?!! then he looked a little closer...

we love that these guys are such good buds.

i'm pretty sure these are the most irresistibly kissable cheeks i've ever seen.

first visit to the ER

we lasted 4 years and 5 months with no visits to ER... i think that's pretty good considering we have 2 high-energy little dudes. anyway, kadin and joel were racing each other through the house and kadin ran smack into the corner of the wall and split his head open. rad. five stitches and doing just fine.

and check out this little chunk. 7 weeks old and weighing in at just under 14 pounds. we make some seriously solid babies... :)

brothers

joel and kadin LOVE their little brother. i guess i was a little worried they wouldn't take to oliver but they can't seem to give him enough kisses and hugs.

kadin was really sweet with oliver the moment we walked in the door from the hospital... very cuddly and lots of kisses.

joel was a little scared of oliver at first. he wouldn't hold him for about a week, but now holding him is part of his bedtime routine.

hopping aboard the crazy train

we took kadin's LAST diaper off this morning. yep, we're potty training little dude #2. "you're crazy!" i hear you say. ya, pretty much. maybe the sleep deprivation from all the night feedings is affecting my mental capacity, but the diaper purchases are taking a toll on our budget... AND it's supposed to rain all week so it's a good week to stay in... AND life is already tough right now with a new baby to take care of so why not add another log to the fire?

bring it on. i'll catch ya on the flip side.

me: what are you guys doing?

joel: we're stretching!

me: oh ya? that's cool.

joel: ya. we have "crummies in our tummies." we have to stretch before we finish our breakfast. (100 points to anyone who knows what book that quote is from)
