"california here i come, right back where i started from..."

i apologize for my nonexistence among my blogging friends lately. my life had been crazy and my computer is in the same room where joel takes naps, so..... the day has finally arrived... we are leaving provo tomorrow morning and moving to california. i'm so ecstatic, i can hardly contain myself. at the same time, i'm surprisingly sad. i've spent many of my years in utah counting down the time when i would get to leave and now i don't want to... well, i'm all too ready to move on and have a real job, but there are so many wonderful things in utah that i'm just crushed to part with. my dear sister morgan, her silly husband, nate, and their darling son, asher... my beautiful sisters, ashley and jillian... my hilarious and fun brother and sister-in-law, doug and jackie... all our wonderful, close friends that we have grown to love over the years... the beautiful mountains... the hills that i've taken my morning run on so many times... BYU... our wonderful ward that we've been in for almost 5 years... all of our extended family that lives here, especially the mcneils, who have been so loving and generous... and on and on and on... what a wonderful place to live! but on to california and the next chapter in our lives. give us a call next time anybody is in the bay area! signing off in utah... catch ya on the flip side.

Here's to moving onward and upward in life! Congrats! Afton Ferguson (now Bolz) lives in the bay area and so does Spencer Williams. (Afton is pregnant!) If I ever make it down that way let's have a reunion! Best of luck with the transition.

Whit I feel like a fool! I have thought about you a lot this last week and kept meaning to call. I can't believe you are leaving tomorrow! I hope you have a great trip and love the bay area. I'm sorry I didn't get to say "goodbye". I feel like a chunk of my life is ending with the last college friend to move away. It makes me cry! Keep it touch!
Love you-Carlie

I was wondering what happened to you. Congrats on the move. I think it is bittersweet to move. Good to move on, but not to leave good friends. Luckily good friends you always keep. Good luck.

Whit,
Long time. Sounds like fun. Reading your last post made me sad. How amazing it must be to have stayed in one place for 5 years. I can't say we have stayed anywhere longer than a year. But there are pros and cons to everything. Congrats on a job! We know just what that feels like- to finally have an income instead of an "outcome." Enjoy CA!!!

Yeah! That is cool and I'm sure your parents are excited. I miss home horribly but am trying to really appreciate North Carolina for the moment and know it is going to take me awhile to feel like we fit in here but my heart is in California even though it's all burning at the moment. Thank goodness for the church it sure has made it easier.

BEN AND WHITNEY!! I'm so excited that you moved to California. Now that you're in California, the next step is to get you down here to the southern side of the state. Pay no attention to the wildfires.

You're so brave. I'm not sure I could ever move back. The only way we would go back to Cali is if Mexico took back Arizona.

So you're in California now? What city? The Bay Area is SO gorgeous and has so much to offer - that's exciting. I hope you guys are enjoying your new local!
Good to hear from you! You and Morgan both look so happy!
